High Country RV mobile service vehicle working on an RV near Doney Park, Arizona

Doney Park is driveway country — big lots, private wells, and RVs parked at the house rather than in a park.

Northern Arizona

Spread along US-89 northeast of Flagstaff in the shadow of the San Francisco Peaks, Doney Park is largely acreage properties where people keep their rigs at home. That makes it ideal territory for mobile service: there is room to work, the RV is already where it lives, and nothing has to be towed anywhere.

Elevation here is comparable to Flagstaff, so the same freeze risk applies with the added wrinkle that many properties are on wells and septic. Owners often use their RV as guest quarters or overflow housing, which means plumbing, heat, and electrical get used through the cold months rather than shut down for the season.

That year-round use changes what we service. Instead of one winterizing visit, Doney Park calls tend toward furnaces that must keep running, water systems kept live in freezing weather, batteries and inverters carrying real loads, and electrical connections to the house that were never done quite right.

On location

Typical Doney Park calls

Driveway and acreage service

Room to work and easy access, which usually makes for an efficient visit.

RVs used as guest housing

Systems kept live through winter need heat management and freeze protection, not winterizing.

Shore power from the house

Undersized cords, questionable adapters, and voltage drop cause damage owners blame on appliances.

Well water systems

Sediment and pressure differences that are hard on pumps, filters, and water heaters.

Long-term parked rigs

Leveling, tire condition, seals, and rodent prevention for a rig that rarely moves.

Pre-trip readiness

Getting a rig that mostly sits ready for an actual trip.

Keeping a rig livable through winter

If someone is sleeping in your RV in January in Doney Park, the priority list is heat, freeze protection, and safe power. That means a furnace you trust, propane supply that keeps up in the cold, heated or protected plumbing, and a power connection sized for the actual load.

We would rather set that up correctly in the fall than answer an emergency call at 6 a.m. in February — and so would you.

Local conditions

Local conditions to plan for

Freeze exposure identical to Flagstaff, often with more wind
Well water quality and pressure that stresses pumps and heaters
Cinder-heavy soil and dust that gets into everything
Strong spring winds hard on awnings and roof edges
Rodents and pack rats from surrounding open land
Rigs that sit for long periods between uses
“Bryon was excellent with communication, letting me know I can come in for service sooner than scheduled. He redid my entire PVC sewage line from tank to valve and saved me money by reusing undamaged parts. I totally recommend High Country RV.”
