Gilbert is mostly homeowner territory — rigs parked at the house or in a nearby storage lot, used for family trips.

East Valley

Gilbert has far fewer RV resorts than neighboring Mesa and Apache Junction and far more RVs parked beside houses. The typical owner here is a family with a travel trailer or fifth wheel used for weekends and summer trips, often stored at a facility because of HOA rules and then brought home the day before departure.

That pattern creates its own service profile. Rigs sit for weeks in extreme heat, then get loaded and driven up I-17 or SR-87 toward cooler elevations with no shakedown in between. Problems surface at the campground rather than in the driveway, which is exactly the wrong place to find them.

We service Gilbert seasonally, at homes where access allows and at storage lots with facility permission. The most valuable thing we do here is the unglamorous pre-trip check that turns a ruined weekend into a routine appointment.

On location

Typical Gilbert calls

Driveway service

Work done at the house, where the rig is loaded and prepped anyway.

Storage lot visits

Service at the facility, with its permission, before you tow home.

Pre-trip inspections

The single best appointment for a weekend-trip owner.

A/C and cooling checks

Confirming rooftop performance before you rely on it at a summer campsite.

Battery and power systems

Heat-killed batteries and converters found before you are off shore power.

Accessory installation

Practical upgrades fitted while the rig sits at home.

The pre-trip check earns its keep

A rig that sat for two months in Gilbert heat has predictable weak points: batteries, tires, roof sealant, A/C performance, propane appliance startup, brakes and bearings on trailers, and a water system with stagnant lines.

Running through those in the driveway a week before you leave is a fundamentally different experience from discovering them at 8 p.m. at a campground three hours north.

Local conditions

Local conditions to plan for

Extreme summer heat during long storage periods
Batteries that die from heat rather than use
Tires aging from UV and heat with almost no mileage
Roof sealant cracking under sustained sun
Dust storms loading filters and vents
Little use between trips, so faults stay hidden until you travel
“Bryon was excellent with communication, letting me know I can come in for service sooner than scheduled. He redid my entire PVC sewage line from tank to valve and saved me money by reusing undamaged parts. I totally recommend High Country RV.”
